Eneco welcomes COP28 agreements on route to fossil-free

Eneco is pleased with the final declaration of the UN Climate Summit in Dubai, in particular the point that countries are called upon to 'transition away from fossil fuels'.  Despite the fact that this is a cautious formulation, it is the only way forward to limit further global warming,  according to Eneco .

CEO of Eneco, As Tempelman responds: 'This is a great step! For a long time, it looked as if no agreement could be reached on this point, and of course you would have liked a firmer wording. But we've crossed this Rubicon for now, and that's good news for everyone who cares about the future of the Earth, our children and future generations. At Eneco, we will make our contribution by aiming to be climate neutral by 2035.'

In the One Planet plan, which was presented in June 2021, Eneco indicates how it wants to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2035. Tackling the climate problem. Can it be done faster? (eneco.com)
