Eneco acquires Suniverse to speed up home sustainability improvements

In order to assist customers directly with making sustainability improvements to their home, on 1 April of this year Eneco acquired Suniverse, including its ‘Energie in Huis’ [energy solutions in the home] label. In view of its aim of being climate neutral by 2035, Eneco is striving to accelerate the pace at which its customers are moving away from natural gas. In order to achieve this One Planet Plan ambition and to better meet consumers’ needs, from now on Eneco will be offering hybrid and non-hybrid heat pumps, solar panels and solar water heaters directly, including an optional financing advice.

In recent years, Energie in Huis has become one of the market leaders in the Netherlands in sustainable energy solutions for the home, both under its own label and under the label 'Eneco Duurzaam Wonen' [Eneco Sustainable Living]. In the context of this collaboration, Eneco was already a minority shareholder of the company. Energie in Huis has now been acquired in full. This is in line with Eneco's ambition to help customers make their homes energy efficient; from providing advice to installation and maintenance.

Energy solutions
By installing heat pumps, solar panels and solar water heaters, homeowners can invest in making their home more sustainable while at the same time reducing their energy costs. For example, a heat pump is a good option for homeowners for reducing their gas consumption or to even stop using gas altogether (in time). From now on, Eneco will be offering these solutions directly, in order to assist customers even better by providing customised advice, easy financing options and a well-coordinated supply chain.
